Cao, Le
Dr. Le Cao
My research investigates the intersections of media theory, journalism studies, and science communication from ethnographic and techno-cultural perspectives. With a background in digital media and cultural studies, I examine how emerging technologies — such as UAVs, AI, and digital platforms — reshape modes of observation, mediation, and the circulation of knowledge across scientific and cultural domains. My current research, »A Media Archaeology of Archaeology«, analyzes the institutional-technological co-evolution of archaeological remote sensing in the UK and Germany. Integrating media archaeology, visual ethnography, and mixed methods, my work examines how technological infrastructures and visual practices shape cultural memory, epistemic authority, and collective imagination.
